Deepening leadership through character development 

The Conference aims to advance the study of character education and virtues as the foundations of leadership development. It will serve as a platform to share research and best practices, as well as opening new avenues for future research to advance the field.

 

Researchers, faculty members, graduate students, and academic leaders are invited to submit original research proposals according to the following lines of inquiry:

  • Character education for leadership

  • Leadership and flourishing

  • Leadership competencies and virtues measurement

  • Leadership and transcendent virtues

Proposal Formats 

Research papers (completed or in progress)

Empirical/data-based studies either qualitative, quantitative or mixed-methods.

Scholarly papers

 

Non-data-based papers that propose novel arguments, pose premises around critical questions, offer critical reviews of the literature, or elaborate new conceptual or theoretical frameworks.

Practical professional and/or educational experiences

 

Describe practical virtue-based and/or character-based leadership education or intervention experiences in diverse educational contexts.

Proposal criteria for submission

  • The length of the abstract will be between 500 and 800 words

  • Include 3 to 5 keywords according to one of the following thesauri: 

  • Times New Roman 12, 1.5 line spacing.  

  • Professional title page and abstracts should follow APA Style 7th edition guidelines.

  • Proposals should be strictly related to one of the lines of inquiry.

  • For research papers include: the problem/object of study, significance, objectives or purpose of inquiry, conceptual or theoretical framework, methods and data sources, findings (preliminary, partial or full) and conclusions.

  • For scholarly papers include: objective or purpose of inquiry, conceptual, theoretical or epistemological framework, critical questions or issues, the argument, propositions or implications and, emerging conclusions.  

  • For practical educational experiences include: problem or object of study, conceptual or theoretical framework, context or intervention site, participants, intervention or education experience, evaluation process and, findings.   

  • Accepted proposals will be included in the conference program provided that at least one of the authors registers for the event within a period not exceeding 15 days from the acceptance notification date.

  • They will be published on the conference website

After the conference, authors will be invited to submit full papers to be published  in a research volume on leadership and character.
